You have a qualification but it's not a degree. You can enter the chemical industry with relevant qualifications even if they are not at degree or postgraduate level. What is more important is your attitude and aptitude and what value you show that you can add to the company. In non-technical areas, your opportunities would be in the support functions for which your qualifications were relevant. For example, an HNC in Business Studies would probably lead you to jobs in administration, management, finance or marketing. In technical areas, where the competition is tough, the higher the level of qualification, the more challenging the job you should seek. You will still be given further training but do not expect to be given any supervisory responsibility just yet. If you don't have a degree, then your technical qualifications could lead you towards the following roles in manufacturing: |
